Star Trek Online Wiki - The Wiki for STO in-game content and canon
Just about everything you ever wanted to know about STO and then some. Guides, tutorials, game mechanics, and in-game lore can all be found on the STO Wiki. While an excellent reference for anything in-game, it's worth noting that first and foremost, STO is a video game, and so many roleplaying groups (including Argo) choose to modify or ignore some of STO's built-in lore and information in favor of 'more correct' information from canon and other sources.
An unofficial resource and community site designed to help players learn more about the game. In addition to tutorials, guides, and information, STO Academy also hosts a few useful tools including a Skill Planner/Build Editor, an in-browser Combat Log Reader, and the Saved Character Editor.
STO Combat Meter
Ever wondered how much DPS you're doing in combat? This utility program will give you that info and more.
Chat Transcript Formatter
Simple, easy to use, and right here on the Argo website. Input a chat log from STO and the tool will format the log with bbcode, ready for posting on forums. Options are provided for editing colors and including or excluding aspects of the raw log in the output.
GENERAL STAR TREK RESOURCES
Memory Alpha - The Star Trek Wiki
An encyclopedia on anything and everything official Star Trek, Memory Alpha is probably the single best and largest resource and reference for anyone writing or roleplaying in the Star Trek Universe.
Memory Beta - The non-canon Star Trek Wiki
Where Memory Alpha covers real-world and canon Trek info, Memory Beta tackles licensed Star Trek works, including novels, comic books, RPG sourcebooks, and video games. While the wiki contains a vast amount of information, it is still considered non-canon and not everything referenced here will be universally accepted.
Star Trek Expanded Universe - The 'fanon' Star Trek Wiki
An encyclopedia of the non-canon and 'fanon' content created in the Star Trek universe. This wiki is focused on information created by or for fan fiction, RPGs, and fan films.
Memory Gamma - The Star Trek Wiki for fan-created content
Another encyclopedia dedicated to non-canon and 'fanon' content in the Trek universe, Memory Gamma is focused on fan-created content. The wiki welcomes articles about people, places, starships, stories, and more from fan fiction.
Ex Astris Scientia - Bernd Schneider's Star Trek Site
An unofficial, but extremely detailed website dedicated to the Star Trek franchise. EAS contains hundreds of canon-based articles on starships, technology, references, and more from the shows and movies. The information and conclusions drawn on this site are generally accepted by many roleplayers.
Star Trek Minutae - Dan Carlson's Star Trek Site
Star Trek Minutiae aims to explore and expand some of the more obscure parts of the Trek universe, and does it well. The site contains a number of detailed articles and essays on in-universe topics as well as a collection of useful resources and references including episode/movie transcripts and a Warp Speed Calculator.
11 Ways to be a Better Roleplayer
Originally written for tabletop RP, this article remains extremely relevant to roleplay in general and is sure to help players get the most out of their experience.
Right here on the Argo website, the Stardate Calculator helps you get that extra bit of immersion by converting calendar dates to stardates (and vice versa).
Imperial Romulan Language Institute
Ever wondered how to ask where the restroom is in traditional Romulan? For those that want a truly immersive (or obsessive) Romulan Roleplay experience, the IRLI provides an English-to-Romulan dictionary, a crash course in the Romulan language, as well as a few lessons on grammar and culture.
SciFi Name Generator
With generators for eight Trek races, plus locations, planets, and random technobabble (not to mention options for other franchises), iIf you ever find yourself stuck for a convincing in-universe name, this page has you covered.
STO Roleplay Fleet Map and Directory
A collaborative post containing an up-to-date listing of STO roleplaying fleets and their in-character locations. Among many others, the 38th Fleet 'Argo' and our starbase, Deep Space 13, can be found on the map and in the directory.
Argo "Server's Down?" Page
Can't connect to STO? Check this page for updates to the STO Twitter feed. If the server is down, or chat not working, his page has a handy in-browser chat window for staying in instant contact with other fleet members!
DJ Azuzu - Listen together!
DJ Azuzu is the name of Argo's resident giant alien DJ. It's also the name of our plug.dj community. For those who haven't used it yet, plug.dj is a webapp that allows you to get in a room with others, create playlists of YouTube/Soundcloud pieces, and join the queue to have it played in sync to everyone in the room. If you want to join in, just let an admin know what your plug.dj username is so we can grant you DJ privileges.
